Everybody is welcome to the Swedish Scout movement. You can join when you are 8 years old and you can be a Scout your whole life.

You can join and be a Scout when you are 8 years old, at which age you will be a Tracker Scout (spårarscout). At 10-12 you are a Discoverer Scout (upptäckarscout), at 12-15 you become an Adventurer Scout (äventyrsscout) and at 15-18 you will be a Challenger Scout (utmanarscout). From the age of 19 up until 25 you can join and be a Rover Scout (roverscout).

The local group can chose to run its meetings in different ways and with different intervals, but most groups meet one evening a week during school terms. Groups generally go on weekend outings or hikes about two times per semester.

In the summer holiday many groups go on week long camps or expeditions. Even though the schools summer vacation goes from the middle of June until late August, most Scout camps are arranged during the end of July and the beginning of August.
